About Us

Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, offers opportunities for student-athletes to compete in intercollegiate athletics in eight team sports: Men's Baseball, Basketball, Women's Volleyball, Basketball and Softball, and Men's and Women's Cross Country.

The Roaring Lions athletic teams compete in the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) with 13 other Penn State University campuses.  Penn State Fayette is also a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association, a national organization that provides opportunities to compete for national championships, All-America, Academic All-America and player of the week honors.

Penn State Fayette currently offers four-year eligibility for student-athletes competing in any of the school's eight varsity sports. In addition to PSUAC opponents, Roaring Lions teams regularly compete against NAIA or NCAA Division II and III schools. Such local teams as Waynesburg University, Point Park University, Saint Vincent College, and Bethany College appear on several of our teams' schedules. With the school's membership in the USCAA, the pool of opponents has taken on a more national scale, with teams such as Southern Virginia University and Rochester College appearing on future Roaring Lions schedules.

For many years Penn State Fayette teams have been associated with excellence. The Women's Volleyball team has won PSUAC Championships in five of the last six years (2005, 2006, 2008, 2009 an 2010) and is annually ranked in the top 10 in the nation. The men's baseball team captured the 2004 PSUAC championship.

In the fall of 2010, all three of the school's fall sports; Golf, Volleyball and Cross Country qualified for the USCAA National Championships. For each of the past three years, both the men's and women's basketball teams have qualified for the USCAA National Basketball Championships.

Fayette has played host to those championships since 2009.

The Roaring Lions Men's and Women's Basketball teams and the Women's Volleyball team call the Penn State Fayette Community Center's Main Arena their home.

This state-of-the-art facility opened in the fall of 2004, with the Main Arena the centerpiece of the Community Center, which also includes a 500-seat auditorium, an auxiliary gym, locker rooms, a fitness center, and racquetball courts as well as the Bird's Nest cafeteria.

In the basketball and volleyball configurations, the Main Arena seats approximately 1,300. The facility also hosted Hillary Rodham Clinton's "Change for America" rally in the spring of 2008.
