Fayette Baseball Season Preview

Fayette Baseball Season Preview

With some of its strongest players returning and some new additions to the roaster, the Roaring Lions look to establish dominance over the PSUAC. The Lions finished last season with an overall record of 3-22 and a PSUAC record of 1-15.  The Fayette baseball team hopes to get some strong play from the five returning seniors, led by brothers Seth and Jon Krall. One at outfield/pitcher and one at second base, they both are two of Fayette's most well rounded players. Senior and fourth year starter, Mike Haines at center field, looks to be a key part in the talented outfield Fayette has assembled.  Power hitter, Sean Cotton, back for his senior year, looks to pick back up right where he left off. Cotton was fourth on the team with a .276 batting average and led the team in homeruns. Jim Amarosa looks to improve on an impressive freshman year season, where he was one of Fayette's most consistent hitters. Newcomer, Francisco Quinonez, looks to add an extra element to the Fayette pitching mound. The Penn State Fayette Roaring Lions baseball team is set to open their season on Saturday, March 19th  and Sunday, March 20th at Hutchinson field. Saturday's game will be played at 1:00pm and 3:00pm against the Terriers of Hiram College. Sunday's against Penn State New Kensington will start at 12:00pm and 2:00pm.
