Fayette Sweeps Season Opener

Hutchinson Field- On March 22nd the Roaring Lions hosted the Knights of Central Penn College. Fayette came out firing on all cylinders beating Central Penn in a tight scoring game 2-1 starting off their season 1-0. In the second game of the double-header, Fayette handled Central Penn easily beating them 7-3. 

A quick first game, the Roaring Lions were led by Seth Krall on the mound.  Krall pitched an outstanding game allowing 0 runs in 4 innings.  Matt Nolan came in as relief and picked up right where Krall left off allowing only one run in 3 innings.

Fayette's bats came in strong in the second where they tallied both of their runs.  Grant Wortman was the first runner to score followed by Dom Welsh. They both scored thanks to a hit by Matt Nolan and an error by Central Penn. 

It was a completely different story in the second game of their first double-header of the season.  The Roaring Lions came out strong again, beating Central Penn 7-3. Matt Nolan had another big game bringing in one run and grabbing two hits and two RBI's. Fayette had a huge fourth inning bringing in 5 runs and going through the entire batting order. Mike Haines had a nice game getting 1 hit, 1 run and 2 RBI's. Seth Krall added 2 stolen bases.

Fayette will be in action Wednesday, March 23 commencing the double-header at 1:30pm away against CCAC Boyce. The Roaring Lions look to improve their record to 4-0.
