Lake Lehman High School- The Fayette men's baseball team have been on a hot streak winning 4 of their last 6 games. The Roaring Lions were on the road to take on a struggling Wilkes-Barre team. Fayette led out on the mound by Kody Thomas. Thomas pitched another solid game, allowing only 4 runs and 6 hits. Thomas improved his record to 5-1 on the season. Francisco Quinonez continued his outstanding play going 2 for 3, with 3 RBI's. Matt Nolan also grabbed 2 RBI's on the day. With a few players out due to sickness, Dylan Jackson really stepped up to the plate. Jackson grabbed and RBI, and had a solo homerun. The Roaring Lions went on to win the first of two games 10-4 improving their record to 13-7 overall and 9-6 in the PSUAC.
In game two the Fayette men's baseball team let Wilkes-Barre get ahead early. Wilkes-Barre was able to manage 4 runs in the first inning. Francisco Quinonez was on the mound for the Roaring Lions. Dylan Jackson continued his solid play from the prior game. Jackson went 1-2, grabbing 2 runs, 3 RBI's and a three run homerun at the top of the 3rd, tying the game 5 to 5, this was Jackson's second homerun on the day. Mike Haines went 2 for 3, scoring 1 run, and grabbing one RBI. The Roaring Lions would fight back but was unable to pull through in the end. The Roaring Lions would go on to drop this game 7-6. This Fayette's first loss in 5 games. The Roaring Lions now hold the number 5 spot in the PSUAC with a 9-7 record in the PSUAC and a 13-8 overall record.
The Fayette Men's baseball team will be on the road this weekend with two double-headers Saturday and Sunday vs Penn State Schuylkill and Penn State Brandywine. Both games will start at 2:00pm and 4:00pm.
