Fayette baseball swept at DuBois

Dubois, PA - The Penn State Fayette baseball team saw its five-game winning streak come to an end Saturday as it was swept by Penn State DuBois in a double header.

In the opener, Fayette (7-13, 3-5) was shut out, 7-0.

DuBois put five runs on the board in the first before adding two more in the second.

Austin Clark (Rices Landing, PA/Jefferson Morgan) looked best for Fayette as he recorded two of its five hits.

In the second game, Fayette lost 12-2 in six innings.

In the top of the first, Fayette took a 1-0 lead.

TJ Lux (West Newton, PA/Yough HS) singled to lead off the game and advanced to second on a ground out.

Two batters later, Clark singled in Lux.

The lead, however, did not last.

DuBois one-upped its first inning performance from the first game as it scored six runs in the first.

The hosts added a run in both the third and fifth innings to take an 8-1 lead into the sixth.

Noah Hanson (New Kensington, PA/Kiski HS) homered for Fayette to make the score 8-2 going into the bottom of the sixth, but DuBois scored four runs to end the game.

Jaryn Addis (Grindstone, PA/Brownsville HS) looked best in the second game for  Fayette with a pair of singles.

The teams have a quick turnaround as they face off Sunday at Fayette.
