Hanson's grand slam leads Fayette over New Kensington

New Kenington, PA - The Penn State Fayette baseball team went to Penn State New Kensington Thursday and came back an 11-1 winner in PSUAC action in grand fashion.

In the first, Austin Clark (Rices Landing, PA/Jefferson Morgan) hit a two-run home run to give Fayette (8-14, 4-6) the early lead on New Kensington (3-13. 2-8) and Noah Hanson (New Kensington, PA/Kiski HS) followed with a grand slam in the third.

Leading 6-1 after four innings, Fayette scored five runs in the fifth to put the game out of reach with a TJ Lux (West Newton, PA/Yough HS) two-run single being the big hit.

Garrett Stevenson (Hempfield, PA/Hempfield HS) had three singles for Fayette while Jaryn Addis (Grindstone, PA/Brownsville HS) and Matt Morgan (Eighty-Four, PA/Ringgold HS) each recorded two singles.

Austin Benton (Lusby, MD/Patuxent HS) went the distance on the mound and struck out eight batters while limiting New Kensington to one run on four hits.

Fayette hosts New Kensington in a double header Saturday.
