Men's Golf hold on to 5th; Brothers wins second Women's Medalist Award

Lemont Furnace, PA – On Monday, The Roaring Lions golf team was the host of the 2017 White Invitational Golf Tournament at the University Park White Course. With the PSUAC Championships coming up next month, all of the nine teams were looking to make a statement at this tournament. The teams began the match at 10:00 AM and had to play in very hot weather conditions.

Penn State Leigh Valley took home the victory with a total team score of 313. Penn State DuBois finished 2nd with a score of 320 and Penn State Hazleton came in 3rd place with a score of 321. The Roaring Lions finished in fifth place with a total team score of 335. Gage Clark led the way with a final score of 76. Austin Clark and Jarrod Sutton both finished with a score of 86 and Noah House added an 87. Haley Brothers won her second Women's Medalist Award for the 2017 golf season. Her final score on the day was a 94.

Looking ahead, the Roaring Lions have two more match-ups before the PSUAC Championships begin. The first match-up will be against Westmoreland County Community College. This will take place at the Valley Green Golf Course in Greensburg, PA on Friday, September 29th at 12:00 PM. The final match-up of the regular season will be the next day against Miami University Hamilton at Middletown, Ohio at  12:30 PM.
