History made as Fayette golf hosts first Invitational at Duck Hollow

Uniontown, Pa - The Penn State Fayette golf team hosted its first-ever tournament on Saturday, September 15 at Duck Hollow Golf Course and had an excellent showing by finishing second.

"It was our first home tournament during our three years of existence as a program," said coach Dave Gumbert. "We had nine schools there, including five PSUAC schools and 35 players competed for individual and team trophies."

The Nittany Lions finished with a score of 339, just behind Kent State Tuscarawas who finished with a 326.

Noah House (Mt. Pleasant/Southmoreland HS) and Ryan Gesso (Uniontown, PA/Laurel Highlands) finished tied for fourth after each shot an 82 and earned medals.

Lou Gonzalez (Port Lavaca, TX/Calhoun HS) also medaled with his seventh-place showing with a score of 83 while Eric Silbaugh (Uniontown, PA/Uniontown HS) shot a 92.
