Golf team does well at Blue Course Invitational

The Penn State Fayette golf team finished fourth at the second neutral site PSUAC conference match at the Blue Course Invitational in State College, PA on September 24th.

"This was our least regular season golf tournament," said coach Dave Gumbert. "This will count, along with the previously played White Course Invitational, toward our final score at the PSUAC Championship tournament."

The team finished with a score of 350, which was 12 strokes behind the winning team from PS Wilkes-Barre.

Fayette had a pair of top-10 finishers in Lou Gonzales (Port Lavaca, TX/Calhoun HS) and Noah House (Mt. Pleasant/Southmoreland HS).

Gonzales finished fifth with a score of 80 while House shot an 82 to finish in sixth.

Ryan Gesso (Uniontown, PA/Laurel Highlands) also had a solid showing as he finished tied for 11th after shooting an 85.

Eric Silbaugh (Uniontown, PA/Uniontown HS) and Liam Reshenberg (Uniontown, PA/Geibel Catholic) finished tied for 45th with scores of 103, Alex Shafley (Mt. Pleasant, PA/Mt. Pleasant HS) finished 53rd with a score of 123 and Pablo Gudiel (Washington, DC/Woodrow Wilson HS) was 55th with a score of 147.
