Golf finishes second at PSU GA Invitational

McKeesport, PA - The Penn State Fayette golf team finished second Tuesday at the PSU Greater Allegheny Invitational.

Fayette shot a 344 and it came in eight shots behind Kent State Tuscarawas.

With its 344, Fayette had the best score among the three Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference teams as PSU New Kensington shot a 354 and PSU Great Allegheny finished with a 383.

Louis Gonzales (Port Lavaca, TX/Calhoun HS) looked best for Fayette as he finished fourth overall individually after shooting an 83.  Three other Fayette golfers finished in the top ten as Jarred Provance (Uniontown, PA/Uniontown HS) tied for seventh with an 86, Ryan Gesso (Uniontown, PA/Laurel Highlands) finished ninth with an 87 and Noah House (Mt. Pleasant/Southmoreland HS) was 10th after shooting an 88.

Joshua Sterbutzel (McClellandtown, PA/Albert Gallatin HS) finished 14th with a 95, Ethan Greene (Carmichaels, PA/Carmichaels HS) was 18th with a 99 and Pablo Gudiel (Washington, DC/Woodrow Wilson HS) came in 22nd after shooting a 115.

Fayette returns to the links on Monday, September 30 when it heads to PSU Hazleton in its last tune-up before the PSUAC and United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Championships which take place October 6-8.
