Provance wins GA Invitaitonal

The Penn State Fayette golf team returned to action Saturday at the PSU Greater Allegheny Invitational, and Jarred Provance (Uniontown, PA/Uniontown HS) took first place.  He shot a 39 at the event which took place at the Youghiogheny Country Club.

Provance won by two strokes over PSU Brandywine's Zak Karlton (41).  PSU New Kensington's Collin McCune (42) took third. 

Fayette's Noah House (Mt. Pleasant/Southmoreland HS) finished fourth after shooting a 44 while Ethan Greene (Carmichaels, PA/Carmichaels HS) tied for fifth after shooting a 46.  Bailey Stapleton (Scottdale, PA/Southmoreland HS) shot a 49 for Fayette and Pablo Gudiel (Washington, DC/Woodrow Wilson HS) shot a 58.

After the Invitational, the teams competed in a nine-hole scramble with the Fayette duo of Stapleton and Green taking third place after shooting a 34.  House, Provance, and Gudiel finished fourth after shooting a 37.

Greene won a medal for the closest shot to a pin on his second shot.

The team returns to action Thursday when it takes part in the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference Blue Invitational in State College.
