Fayette Pulls Out Big Win Over Last Undefeated Team in the PSUAC

MONT ALTO, PA- Penn State Fayette Men's Basketball team were set to take on the Nittany Lions of Mont Alto.  The Roaring Lions knew they had a tough game ahead of them taking on the only undefeated team left in the PSUAC. The Roaring Lions won a tight contest despite being down at half.    

On Jan. 31, the Roaring Lions rallied regardless of being behind at half time. In spite of the slow start, Brandon Cunningham led the second half rally netting a team high 16 points in the second half.  Cunningham would finish the game with 24 points.  Luke Williams was very consistent throughout the game tallying 12 points in both the first and second half for a game total of 24 points.  London Hoxie had a great performance from the bench putting up 12 points while only playing 20 minutes.  Hoxie was also a perfect 4 for 4 from the free throw line.    

Theo Remy had a nice night leading Mont Alto with 19 points while going 3 for 5 from the free throw line.  DeShawn Franklin was huge for Mont Alto from the bench averaging a point per minute scoring 15 points in only 14 minutes. 

The Roaring Lions trailed at half time by a score of 37 to 35 only to make a comeback in the second half.

Fayette edged over Mont Alto in three pointers and free throws.  Fayette went 44.0% (11 for 25) from beyond the arch as well as going 73.3% (22 for 30) from the free throw line.  Mont Alto edged Fayette in field goals.     

The Roaring Lions would go on to a tight win coming from behind to contest 89 to 82 against Mont Alto.  With another huge conference win, the Roaring Lions improved their record to 10-8 overall and 9-2 in the conference.  With this win the Roaring lions drastically increase their chances for a playoff berth.

Fayette will be at home to face Carlow on Tuesday, February 2 at 8pm.
