Fayette Rebounds After First Loss in 6 Games

LEMONT FURNACE— After suffering their first loss in six games, the Roaring Lions looked to bounce back Wednesday night against Penn State Beaver.  Beaver played Fayette very close up until halftime and that is when Fayette took over.

On Jan. 29, The Roaring Lions were led by Brandon Cunningham who posted his third double-double of the year.  Cunningham would finish the night with 23 points and 13 rebounds.  Dominick Jackson seems to always excel when playing Beaver.  In the first contest against Beaver, Jackson posted 20 points, then Wednesday night, Jackson tallied another 17 points making some extraordinary shots throughout the night.  C.J. Gaddis picked up right where he left off from the night before posting another 15 points on the night, giving him a two game total of 51 points.  Cunningham led the Roaring Lions with 13 rebounds, plus 3 steals to lead the team as well.

Eric Gallupe led the way for Beaver for the second straight game.  Beaver had two players post double-doubles on the night with Gallupe and Alleyne.  Gallupe 21 points and 10 rebounds while Alleyne netted 17 points and 17 rebounds.

The Roaring Lions led at half time by a score of 36 to 33.

Fayette edged Beaver in field goals and free throws making 35 of 81 field goals and 10 of 15 free throws.  Despite having their worst night from the three point line, Fayette was able to roar past Beaver.

The Roaring Lions posted a commanding victory 84 to 69.  With another huge conference win this puts the Lions in a two way tie for first with Penn State Mont Alto with a conference record of 10-2.

Fayette will be at home to face Penn State Lehigh Valley Saturday February 6 at 5pm.
