The Roaring Lions Win Game in Final Seconds

The Roaring Lions Win Game in Final Seconds

Penn State New Kensington came into to town looking for revenge against the Roaring Lions on Friday. Fayette bested New Kensington earlier in the season with an 87-84 victory. And on Friday, Fayette bested New Kensington again with an 83-81 win. But this was not an easy win for Fayette. There were 7 lead changes, and New Kensington held the lead for the majority of the time. And in latter part of the second half, New Kensington had all the momentum. Fayette was playing from behind, and it looked like New Kensington was going to come out with the win. But with less than two minutes left, Tanner Huffman tied it with a 3-point jump shot. Fayette eventually won the game in the final seconds from two scores from Dominick Jackson.

Dominick Jackson was the star of the game last night. Not only did he win the game for Fayette in the final seconds, he once again led all scorers. He had a whopping 30-point game. Tanner Huffman also had a prominent role in Friday's win. He tied the game in the final minutes and also had 10 points and two rebounds. Spencer Perieff and Anthony Bristol also had a double-digit night. Perieff put up 11 points and Bristol scored 16.

The Lions have now won three games in a row and will look to bring that momentum into Saturday's game against Penn State Du Bois. They will look for another win before the USCAA Basketball Championships.
