Men's Basketball secures first conference win behind Mozie

Scranton, PA - The Penn State Fayette Men's basketball team evened its PSUAC record at 1-1 thanks to its 108-91 win at Penn State Scranton Saturday.

Trailing 46-43 at the half and 70-66 with 10:23 to play in the game, Fayette finally took the lead for good with 7:59 to play when Tavian Mozie (McClellandtown, PA/Albert Gallatin HS) hit a three-pointer to make the score 76-73.

Fayette outscored Scranton 32-18 the rest of the way to secure the win.

All five Fayette starters hit double figures.

Mozie led the way with 26 points, including hitting seven three-pointers, while Iman Young (Silver Springs, MD/West Potomac HS) had a monster game with 24 points and 21 rebounds.

London Hoxie (Menifee, CA/Paloma HS) had 18 points while Marvin Sidon (Lahaina, HI/Lahainaluna HS) and Salim Wyche (Bel Air, MD/East Stroudsburg HS) each recorded double-doubles as Sidon had 17 points and 14 assists while Wyche had 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Scranton's Cameron Jordan led all scorers with 29 points.

For the game, Fayette shot 46.7% (42-90) from the field while Scranton shot 39.7% (31-78).

The teams combined for 85 three-point attempts as Fayette made 17 of 48 attempts (35.4%) while Scranton made 13 of 37 (35.1%).

Fayette has its home opener Wednesday, December 5 when it hosts Penn State DuBois at 8 p.m.
