MBB falls in OT at PSU Shenango

Sharon, PA - The Penn State Fayette men's basketball team dropped a 77-68 PSUAC contest at Penn State Shenango Friday night.

A pair of free throws by Tavian Mozie (McClellandtown, PA/Albert Gallatin HS) to close the first half gave Fayette (2-6, 2-2) a 34-28 lead and a Marvin Sidon (Lahaina, HI/Lahainaluna HS) three-pointer gave the team a 39-30 lead with 19:15 to play in regulation.

The second half ended tied at 66-66 and a Salim Wyche (Bel Air, MD/East Stroudsburg HS) jump shot gave Fayette a 68-66 lead with 3:46 to go in overtime, but Shenango scored the last 11 points of the game to pull out the win.

Fayette was 26 of 62 (41.9%) from the field, including 12 of 32 (37.5%) on three-pointers while Shenango was 26 of 45 (57.8%) from the field and five of nine from behind the arc.

The difference was at the foul line where the hosts were 20 of 25 while Fayette only went to the line five times, making four, as Shenango was only called for five fouls all game.

London Hoxie (Menifee, CA/Paloma HS) led Fayette with 15 points while Sidon had 11 and both Mozie and Iman Young (Silver Springs, MD/West Potomac HS) added 10.

Gannon Murray had 26 points for Shenango, which held a 32-15 advantage on rebounds.

Fayette is off until Saturday, December 15 when it hosts Penn State Mont Alto.
