MBB falls to PSU-Mont Alto

Lemont Furnace, PA - The Penn State Fayette men's basketball team fell into a fourth-place tie with Penn State Greater Allegheny in the PSUAC West division Saturday afternoon after its 76-57 loss to Penn State Mont Alto.

Down 35-29 at the half, Fayette (2-7, 2-3) was able to cut the Mont Alto (7-3, 4-2) lead to three points twice in the second half, but the guests took control of the game halfway through the second half and pulled away with the hosts getting no closer than eight points the rest of the way.

Iman Young (Silver Springs, MD/West Potomac HS) was the lone Fayette player in double figures with 17 points while Salim Wyche (Bel Air, MD/East Stroudsburg HS) led the team with 11 rebounds.

Fayette shot 40.7% (24-59) for the game while Mont Alto shot 49.2% (30-61).

Mont Alto was led by Jalen Smith (19) and John Teague (12) who combined for 31 points.

Fayette is off until Saturday, December 29 when it heads to Millersville and then it heads to Clarion the next day before returning to PSUAC play on Monday, January 7 when it hosts Penn State New Kensington.
