MBB drop 2nd straight PSUAC matchup

Lemont Furnace, PA - The Penn State Fayette men's basketball team dropped its second straight PSUAC contest with a 65-50 loss to Penn State Beaver Saturday, 65-50.

Fayette (3-12 overall, 3-6 PSUAC) only led once in the game, with 17:19 to play in the first half, when Tavian Mozie (McClellandtown, PA/Albert Gallatin HS) hit a three-pointer to give it a 6-4 lead over Beaver (11-4, 7-2).

However, Beaver slowly pulled away and led 36-22 at halftime.

The closest Fayette was able to get in the second half was nine points.

Beaver shot 46% for the game (23-50) while Fayette shot 38.6% (22-57).

From downtown, Fayette made five out of 17 attempts (29.4%) while Beaver made eight out of 13 attempts (61.5%).

Beaver won the rebound battle (31-29) while Fayette had the advantage in turnovers (only 16 to 19 for Beaver), points off of turnovers (12-11) and in second chance points (9-6).

Marvin Sidon (Lahaina, HI/Lahainaluna HS) was the lone Fayette player to hit double figures as he scored 12 points while Beaver's John Foster led all players with 23 points.

Fayette returns to play Tuesday when it heads to PSU DuBois for a PSUAC conference game.

Tipoff is at 8:00 p.m.
