MBB drops season finale

Lemont Furnace, PA - The PSU Fayette men's basketball team closed its 2018-19 campaign Friday night with an 81-71 loss at home to PSU Greater Allegheny.

Fayette's largest lead of the game was three points at 26-23 with 6:21 to play in the first half and the contest featured six ties and six lead changes.

After Fayette (10-15, 10-9 PSUAC) grabbed its three-point lead, Greater Allegheny (16-8, 13-6) closed the half on a 14-6 run to take a 37-29 lead into halftime.

Down 40-39 after a London Hoxie (Menifee, CA/Paloma HS) three-pointer, he was fouled on Fayette's next possession while attempting another shot from behind the arc.

Hoxie was fouled and hit all three free throws to give Fayette a 42-40 lead with 16:52 to play.

But unfortunately for the hosts, it would be their last lead.

Greater Allegheny would slowly extend its lead and even though Fayette would make runs, it could not grab the lead back.

Hoxie and Iman Young (Silver Springs, MD/West Potomac HS) led Fayette with 16 points apiece while Tavian Mozie (McClellandtown, PA/Albert Gallatin HS) scored 12 and Dominic Boring (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster HS) added 11.

Young also added 14 rebounds for Fayette while Jordan Payne led Greater Allegheny with 28 points.

Fayette shot 37.9% (22-58) while Greater Allegheny shots 42.6% (29-68).

The biggest asset for Greater Allegheny in the game was it scored 38 points off of 25 Fayette turnovers while Fayette only scored 12 points off of nine Greater Allegheny miscues.
