MB Thriller win over PHCC

Lemont Furnace, PA- Men's basketball has their first true test with a thrilling win over Penn Highlands Community College.

Men's basketball had an impressive comeback last night against Penn Highlands Community College with a final score of 97-84. In the first period it did not look promising for the Nittany Lions when they were trailing 44 to 37, but that all seemed to change when the clock started in the second half. Then Fayette men's team pushed for an exciting second half with a 60 to 40 rally to win. This win was lead by second year player Xavier Boyd (Loganville, GA) who was able to score an impressive 22 points in the second half.

Head Coach Andrew Hedrick had this to say about the game, "Penn Highlands came out and played better than us in the first half. I am proud of our teams effort by turning up the intensity in the second half. Our team's defense early in the second half was great and Xavier Boyd came off and really took over the game."

Other leading scorers were Dasilas Jones with 22 points and 7 assists, Torian Jenkins with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks, and Dom Boring with 20 points.

Fayette, now 3-0, is set to take on Franciscan University (0-0) at home Saturday at 2:00 P.M. to end their week.
