MBB has big weekend

Lemont Furnace, PA- Men's basketball has big weekend and splits games.

 

Men's basketball had a huge game Friday night against USCAA Coaches Poll top pick, Penn State York, despite the final score of 80-76 resulting in a loss. In the first half it looked promising for Fayette with a lead of 42-34, but due to a hard few plays at the end it resulted in a loss.

Coach Hedrick spoke about the match up, "We played a great game. We completed and lead most of the game. The last couple minutes didn't go our way, but it was a tremendous team effort."

Coach Hedrick's words are spoken truth with Dasilas Jones scoring 28 points and accomplishing 6 steals. Also showing up big for Fayette was Dominic Boring who had a great game of 17 points and 7 rebounds.

Saturdays match up was a tough one as well, battling the fifth ranked team in the USCAA, Penn State Mont Alto. Fayette showed dominence early outscoring Mont Alto 35-28 at the half. Fayette finished the game strong with a 76-60 win over the Mont Alto Nittany Lions, which was a big win for the USCAA Coaches Poll tha Fayette is currently ranked 7th in.

Coach Hedrick commented on the game, "This was a big win against the team leading the west. It was a strong defensive effort from the whole team. Si Jones and Torian Jenkins lead us on offense with 19 each."

Dasilas Jones scored 19 points for Fayette, bringing his total to 81 points over the last three games. Torian Jenkins showed on both sides of the court with 19 points and 16 rebounds.

 

Fayette plays at Saint Vincent tonight at 7:00 P.M., going in with a record of 7-3 for the overall season.
