Winning Streak Continues for Lady Roaring Lions

DuBois, PA- The Penn State Fayette Lady Roaring Lions traveled to Penn State DuBois to play a doubleheader on Friday April 14th. The team extends their hot winning streak to seven after winning both games.

In game one of the day, Fayette made sure that they scored in almost every inning they played. Fayette started off on a good note with a 5-1 lead in the first inning. Throughout the game the team had a consistent batting rhythm. In the 6th inning, Fayette went on a run and rounded the bases with scoring 7 in one inning. All of Fayette players were able to have at least one hit and a handful had a couple RBIs to help score the runs. Freshman Haley Rugg had a double and 2 RBIs and Freshman Tiffany Markovitch also had a double along with 4 RBIs. Other players who had an RBI are Lauren Adams (2), Caitlyn Brown (2), Monica Joseph, and Emily Lewis. Penn State Fayette didn't allow Penn State DuBois to have a chance to get around the bases easy. The Lady Roaring Lions won 16-3 in 6 innings for the first game.

Penn State Fayette's defense was on point for the second game. The team didn't allow any runs on top of Markovitch tying her career high of strikeouts with 10. Markovitch had a total of 19 strikeouts of the day between the two games. Sophomore Hannah Kline hit a .750 batting average against DuBois. Freshman Aubree Yates batted a .500 which includes a triple and an RBI. Freshman Monica Joseph added on 2 RBIs and senior Miranda Nichols added one.  Penn State Fayette won 5-0.

Penn State Fayette is currently tied for 2nd in the PSUAC with Penn State New Kensington. The Lady Roaring Lions will look to continue their winning streak and take the second place spot as they host Penn State New Kensington, Monday April 17th. The first game is set for 3 pm.
