Turn-around year comes to an end for Lady Roaring Lions

Akron, OH – In the second round of the USCAA National Softball Championships, The Penn State Fayette Lady Roaring Lions faced-off with #4 SUNY-Canton in the L-bracket of the double-elimination tournament. In an effort to fend off from complete elimination, Fayette could not manage the 8-0 deficit.

Fueled by notable offensive performances from SUNY-Canton's Brittany Staltare and Stefanie Miller and the team's defensive efforts, Fayette was stifled at the plate. Managing only 1 hit from the bat of senior Miranda Nichols, the Lady Roaring Lions was overcome by SUNY-Canton's 7 run 3rd inning.

Fayette will play a consolation match, their final game of the 2017 season, against #6 U of Maine- Presque Isle on May 16 at 2pm. For more tournament information, be sure to visit www.theuscaa.com. For continued coverage of Fayette softball, continue visiting us at www.goroaringlions.com.
