Fayette Splits Home Doubleheader with Mont Alto

The last weekend of the regular season pitted Penn State Fayette against Penn State Mont Alto. The first day of competition resulted in a split with Fayette taking game 1 and Mont Alto taking game 2.

Mont Alto would jump out to an early lead in game 1, taking advantage of Fayette errors to put up 3 runs.

Fayette cut into the lead in the 2nd on an RBI single by Hannah Kline and again in the 3rd when Kelsey Holp scored on a passed ball. Fayette then took the lead in the 4th on RBI hits by Holp, Casey Hite and Caitlyn Brown.

RBI singles by Chanel Porter in the 5th and Aubree Yates in the 7th would secure the victory for Fayette.

Tiffany Markovitch went the distance for Fayette, allowing only 1 earned run and striking out 8 in the win.

Cassidy Feaser took the loss for Mont Alto, allowing 8 runs on 10 hits.

Game 2 would begin with Fayette putting up 3 runs in the first inning, with Yates and Holp both taking home on passed balls and an RBI single by Kaitlyn Wilson.

However the game would be decided in the 3rd, when Mont Alto took advantage of Fayette errors to put up 5 runs.

From there, Fayette failed to get the bats going again, and would drop game 2.

Casey Hite took the loss for Fayette, despite not allowing a single earned run and striking out 6.

Mackenzie Brymesser earned the win for Mont Alto.

Fayette returns to action Saturday as they once against host Mont Alto on Senior Day.
