Fayette won the opener, 13-5.

The outcome was never in doubt as Fayette scored five runs in the first and another in the second.

Casey Hite (Bentleyville, PA/Bentworth HS) led the offensive attack as she had four of Fayette's 12 hits, including a double, while Katie Kelley (Fairchance, PA/Albert Gallatin HS) added a single and a double.

New Kensington took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first but Fayette scored twice in the inning when Mastowski hit an RBI double and it added another run on a fielder's choice off of the bat of Kelley.

New Kensington took a 3-2 lead in the third, but Fayette roared back with seven runs in the bottom half of the inning.
