Lady Lions Rally From Half-Time Deficit For Huge Win on the Road

DuBois, PA- The Lady Lions of Penn State Fayette, the Eberly Campus (6-3, 6-11) overcame a nine point halftime deficit and outscored Penn State DuBois (2-9, 5-14)  by 22 in the second half, winning by a final of 61-50.  In a slowed down game, the Lady Lions found themselves in a back and forth battle with a familiar PSUAC foe for the first fourteen minutes of the game.  Junior forward Shannon Flament hit a free-throw with 6:07 left in the first half to knot the game at 14.  DuBois then went on a 14-5 run to finish the half.
The second half was a complete turnaround for the Lady Lions, as they seemed to wake up and play defense.  A quick basket by Sophomore forward Kaitlyn Miller, a jumper by Flament, three quick three's by Freshman guard Ally Rudolph, and another quick three by Freshman guard Haley Moreland gave Fayette the momentum they needed.  They found themselves up 35-28 with 16:28 remaining in the game.
After the teams traded a few baskets for the next couple of minutes, Sophomore forward/guard Courtney Haines and Sophomore guard Kelsey Laurine went on their own scoring spree, leading the Lady Lions to a 55-41 lead with 5:00 remaining.
"These ladies really responded to the adjustments we made at halftime.  Shannon (Flament) talked to the team at halftime and implored them to use the defensive fundamentals on which we work daily," commented coach Jajuan Davis.
Rudolph led all scorers with 20, while Miller pulled down a game-high 9 rebounds.  Following Rudolph in the scoring column were Haines and Moreland, with 14 and 11 respectively.
The Lady Lions are back in action, as they travel to Penn State Hazleton on Saturday and Penn State Lehigh Valley on Sunday.
