Lady Lions Manage Mont Alto, Secure PSUAC Playoff Spot

Lemont Furnace, PA - The Lady Lions of Penn State Fayette, the Eberly Campus played with heart and determination in a much needed 72-51 win over Penn State Mont Alto in the regular season finale Saturday at the Community Center's Main Arena.

The Lady Lions found themselves in a "win or wait" situation Saturday, needing the win to earn post-season rights.  Three players scored double figures, as Sophomore combo guard Courtney Haines poured in 17.  Sophomore forward Kaitlyn Miller pulled down a team high 10 rebounds for the Lady Lions, continuing her dominance in the paint.

Freshaman forward Jackie Halapy paced the Lady Lions in the first half, going 7 for 8 from the field en route to a 10 point halftime lead.  Halapy finished the game with 16.  Haines added 14 of her 17 in the first half, as nearly everyone of the Lady Lions found her way to the scoring column.

Junior guard Kelsey Laurine led Fayette offensively in the second half, adding 10 points on a 7-9 night from the foul line.  Freshman guard Haley Moreland finished the game with 9 points and 5 rebounds.

Following Moreland in the scoring column was Junior forward Shannon Flament, adding seven points on a perfect 3 for 3 performance from the field.

Freshman guard Ally Rudolph added 5 points, while forward Kira Doaks was a perfect 1 for 1 from the field.

The Lady Lions await their playoff seeding, and are expected to play on the road Wednesday.
