Lady Roaring Lions Breeze Past Schuylkill
LEMONT FURNACE, PA – The Ladies of Penn State Fayette kept up a consistently strong game against Penn State Schuylkill's Women's basketball team on Saturday, January 30th. Starting from the tipoff at 1:00pm, the Lady Roaring Lions began their domination on the scoreboard averaging 22.75 point per quarter. All of the players contributed in points to the 91-44 win today.
The high scorer of the day for the Schuylkill Ladies was Tessa Dolce, adding 12 more points to her previous leading stat of 141 points for her team to maintain her spot on top. Helping her team out massively under the hoop defensively, Izzie Stewart snagged eight rebounds on her end of the court and two more offensive. Overall, the Schuylkill women snatched up 40 rebounds in today's game.
Taylor Smith was back on top tonight on the scoreboard with 22 points maintaining her scoring lead for the team now at 221 points. Four other players for the Fayette women also reached double digits by the last buzzer; Haley Moreland (14 points), Courtney Haines (12 points), Ally Rudolph (11 points), and Lyndsey Huhn (10 points).
The Lady Roaring Lions worked well together as a team to shoot 50% in field goals and an impressively composed 60.7% on the free throw line.
With two games down in the last two days and three more to come over the next four days, the Fayette Ladies basketball team better rest up tonight in preparation to face Penn State Mont Alto away on Sunday, January 21st at 1:00pm.
