Another High Scoring Win for Fayette Ladies

MONT ALTO, PA – Penn State Fayette women commanded the court with an 81-61 win over Penn State Mont Alto on Sunday at 1:00pm. Their first away game after three consecutive home games, Fayette didn't let up the whole game with four players scoring at least 13 points; Kelsey Laurine (season high 15 points), Courtney Haines (14 points), Ally Rudolph (13 points), and Kaitlyn Miller (13). Altogether these four athletes nearly scored as many points as Mont Alto accumulated with their whole team.

Both teams were on their marks with free throws on Sunday. Penn State Mont Alto shot 73.3% and Fayette went 80%. For Mont Alto, Alicia Detwiler, Brooke Porter, and Alexis Smalls all shot consistently 100% at the free throw line. In response, the Lady Roaring Lions also had players shooting for perfection for those extra points with Taylor Smith going 4-4 and Ally Rudolph 2-2.

Off the bench for Fayette, the reserves proved themselves on the board scoring the majority of points for their team with 51 points. Recently returning from a knee injury, the Fayette ladies are glad to have junior forward, Kaitlyn Miller, back shooting an impressive 66.7% for field goals. Having her back also adds a little more height to the team.

Coming up for the Fayette Roaring Lions is a tough battle with the number two team in the PSUAC at home on Wednesday versus Penn State Beaver as well as an out of conference game against Carlow at home Tuesday, February 2nd at 6:00pm.
