LeMont Furnace- The Lady Lions of Fayette had a big weekend as they won both of their contests. First, the Lions took on Penn State Worthington Scranton and won easily with a score of 91-45. Fayette was led by Courtney Haines who had a career night. Haines was on fire as she dropped a game high and season high 33 points off an incredible 16-18 shooting. Her big night is what led this fayette team to their first conference win. Another notable performance was from Taylor Smith who posted 15 points and 8 rebounds as she dominated the glass for Penn State Fayette.
In the second matchup of the weekend, Fayette blew out Penn State Wilkes-Barre, 86-37. Courtney Haines continued her hot shooting as she put up 22 points to lead Fayette in scoring. Siteri Tale just a day after suffering an injury to her ankle played and put up a near double-double as she posted 9 points and 10 rebounds as she led her team in rebounding.
The Lady Lion's sit at .500 for the season with an overall record of 5-5 and a conference record of 2-0. The Roaring Lion's are getting hot and have one more game til Christmas break. Fayette's next game will be on Friday at Penn State Beaver at 6:00 PM.
