Lemont Furnace, PA – Penn State Fayette Lady Lions keep their winning streak alive as they battled Penn State Mont Alto Saturday afternoon. The Lady Lions manage to get back on track after another slow start in the first quarter, being down by 2. Although, throughout the game, Fayette stuck together and kept a steady lead. In the end, the Lady Lions gained another win of 69-51 against Mont Alto.
Taylor Smith scored a game-high of 22 points and 14 rebounds to give her 11th double-double of the season. Smith is currently ranked first in leading scoring and rebounding the PSUAC. Right behind is junior, Haley Moreland who gave Fayette a whopping 21 points and 4 steals in Saturday's performance. Courtney Haines also added 14 points to Fayette's victory.
For Penn State Mont Alto, they are a young and developing team this year. They were led by freshman, Abagail Herring with a game high of 13 points. The rest of Mont Alto shared an average of 7 points in assisting Herring.
On a four game win streak, the Penn State Fayette Lady Lions are 6-2 in the PSUAC putting them at 5th for the conference. Fayette will seek for another victory as they travel to Penn State Greater Allegheny on Tuesday, January 24th. Tip-off is set for 6 pm.
