Riley paces six in double figures in WBB win

Lemont Furnace, Pa - Kaitlyn Riley (Charleroi, PA/Charleroi HS) led six PSU Fayette players in double figures with 24 points to pace the team to its fifth win in six games as it downed Hazleton Saturday, 97-48.

Bailey Vig (California, PA/California HS) and Dae-lin Burnsworth (Monarch, PA/Connellsville HS) each added 14 points with Burnsworth adding eight assists, Lyndsey Huhn (California, PA/California HS) had 13 points, Shelbie Brown (Camden, OH/Preble Shawnee HS) had 12 points and 10 rebounds in an efficient 13 minutes and Siteri Tale (Uniontown/Laurel Highlands HS) tallied 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

Fayette, which had a 62-26 advantage in points in the paint, never trailed and dominated from the start as it led 24-10 after the first quarter and 41-22 at the half.

In case there was any doubt in the outcome, Fayette outscored Hazelton 33-15 in the third to take a 74-37 lead into the fourth.

Fayette shot 50.6% (40-79) from the field while Hazleton shot 30.2% (16-53).

For the game, Fayette outperformed Hazleton in every category including rebounds (47-26), assists (20-2), points off of turnovers (23-11), second chance points (29-9) and bench points (25-3).

Fayette (11-13, 7-7 PSUAC) evened its conference record with the win.

Hazleton (8-13, 5-9) was led by Mckenzie Prutsman's 24 points.

Fayette closes its regular season Friday when it hosts PSU Greater Allegheny at 6:00 p.m.
