Fayette downs New Ken 3-0 in PSUAC play

LEMONT FURNACE, Pa. – Penn State Fayette's Lady Roaring Lions returned to conference play with a convincing 3-0 victory over Penn State New Kensington on Thursday night.  Fayette improved to 2-0 in conference play winning by scores of 25-7, 25-8 and 25-7.

Samantha Helmantoler (Ringgold) led the offense with eight kills on 13 attacks while Katlyn Salisbury (Yough) added six to go along with seven service aces. Tori Helmantoler (Ringgold) chipped in with five. Kelsey Tyler (California) added four.

Emily Konter (Brownsville) dished out 25 assists and served four aces. Emily Caldwell (Belle Vernon) and Caitlin Williams (Connellsville) led the defense with five digs each.

Fayette improves to 6-6 overall and 2-0 in PSUAC conference play. The Lady Roaring Lions travel to Greater Allegheny on Saturday to face Penn State Brandywine and Penn State Schuylkill.

The Lady Roaring Lions return home on Sunday to host Penn State Mont Alto and Penn State York. First serve for Mont Alto is noon.
