Lady Lions earn first conference win

LEMONT FURNACE, Pa. – The Fayette Roaring Lady Lion's pounced on Greater Allegheny Wednesday night and never let up. Fayette's incredible performance earned them the win against Greater Allegheny and a win in conference play.  

 The Roaring Lion's swept the game sets against Greater Allegheny 3-0 with scores of (25-10, 25-6, 25-13). Victoria Helmantoler led the way once again and accounted for 31/32 of the teams assists. Caitlyn Williams had another strong performance with 13 digs. Greater Allegheny had no answer for Janelle Cooper and Siteri Tale as they dominated the net.

Greater Allegheny started slow but clawed their way back in the final set and made the Fayette Lion's earn the Win. Greater Allegheny was led by Tori Johnston and Laura Vazquez Diaz. The two leaders tried their best but they were no match for the Roaring Lions. Greater Allegheny has now fallen to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play this season.

The Fayette Lions have won 5 of their last 6 games and have just earned their first conference win. With Wednesday night's victory they now sit at the top of the PSUAC standings with Beaver, Hazelton, and Mont Alto. The Lions go on the road next to take on Saint Vincent College and try to continue their stellar play.
