Lady Lions continue dominant performance

Lemont Furnace – Penn State Fayette Volleyball roared past the compeititon and further up the national rankings as they took three well-earned match wins in PSUAC conference play this past weekend.

Saturday, October 1st served as the first of 3 matches the Lady Roaring Lions would see over the weekend. Hosting PSU Mont Alto in the second of what was a doubleheader for the visitors, Fayette wasted no time in doing what they have been so familiar with thus far this season. Led by captains Tori Helmantoler and Caitlyn Williams, Fayette swept Mont Alto in 3 sets (25-10, 25-17, and 25-15). With spectacular performances by such team leaders as Siteri Tale (10 kills), Tori Helmantoler (27 assists), and Caitlyn Williams (26 digs), the Lady Roaring Lions put their eyes towards the next day's doubleheader at PSU New Kensington.

Fayette began the first of two matches against cross-state conference opponent, PSU Schuylkill. With Fayette getting the entire team involved at some point of the 3 set series, they managed to defeat PSU Schuylkill 25-6, 25-15, and 25-11.

Fayette's confidence and near perfect performance needed to carry into the next match as they were slated to bout PSU Brandywine; a team that ended Fayette's championship streak in 2015. With a more competitive match than the first, Fayette managed to defeat Brandywine in 3 straight sets (25-17, 25-18, 25-16). Fayette was led by stellar performances  from Emma Lewis (9 kills), Tori Helmantoler (31 Assists), and Caitlyn Williams (21 digs).

Fayette will be back in action Wednesday evening as they travel to WVU Tech for a non-conference match series.
