Worthington Scranton, Pa - Fayette Lady Lions had a quad match over the weekend and swept their competition. Seniors Tori Helmantoler and Janelle Cooper led the way for their dominating performance.
Game 1: Fayette defeated Penn State Worthington Scranton. The lady Lions won 3-0 with scores of (25-8, 25-10, 25-8). Janelle Cooper posted 10 digs with 5 kills. Victoria Helmantoler earned 16 assists and 7 digs.
Game 2: Lady Roaring Lions squared off against Penn State Wilkes Barre Scranton to finish up the first day of the quad match. Fayette won the match against Wilkes-Barre, 3-0. The lady lions took the sets with scores of (25-10, 25-11, 25-10). Caitlyn Williams and Tori Helmantoler were the leading scorers. Caitlyn had 15 digs and Tori Helmantoler had 32 assists along side with 4 digs.
Game 3: The streaking lady lions took on the Penn State Lehigh Valley and won the match 3-0. The match scores were (25-11, 25-13, 25-14). Fayette was led by Janelle Cooper, who had 8 kills and 7 digs and Emma Lewis, who posted 8 digs and 5 kills.
Game 4: Fayette faced off against Penn State Hazelton at Allentown. The Roaring Lions finished off the weekend by sweeping the sets versus Hazelton. Fayette won the matches with scores of (25-13, 25-6, 25-16). The team was led by Senior Tori Helmantoler and Freshman Siteri Tale. Helmantoler did a little bit of everything to lead the team to a win. Tori had 30 assists, 8 digs, 4 kills and Siteri Tale had 16 kills, 4 digs to help the lions dominate Hazelton.
Fayette Lady Lions finished as the PSUAC regular season champs with an undefeated conference record. The Lions have two more non-conference games left against Kent St - Tuscarawas and Allegheny College of Maryland. After those games the Lady Lions will look towards the PSUAC Championship Tournament and continue their perfect season.
