3-0 sweep for Fayette Volleyball

Lemont Furnace, PA – After defeating Penn State Greater Allegheny on Wednesday, the Roaring Lions traveled to Cumberland, Maryland yesterday to take on the Allegany College of Maryland. The match was set to start at 6:00 PM. Penn State Fayette went into the match-up in 3rd place in the conference with a record of (15-6) overall and (9-3) in the PSUAC. This would be the first match-up of the season for these two teams.

Penn State Fayette defeated Allegany College of Maryland, 3-0. The sets were 25-2, 25-9 and 25-8. Kayla Barbabella got 4 aces during the match with 2 digs as well. Khani Young had a kill percentage of 1.00. Young is the first hitter all year for the Roaring Lions to accomplish this. Machaela Hall tallied another big game of assists with 18. Kyonte Martin recorded 3 kills and 3 digs. Morgan Pytlak had 4 kills on the evening. Siteri Tale posted another big game in kills with 8 and Hannah Lipniskis recorded 3 kills for the Roaring Lions. This victory extends the Roaring Lions win streak to 6 in a row.

Looking ahead, the Roaring Lions have a weekend off, but come back in action for 4 games next week. On Monday, October 16th, Penn State Fayette will host Penn State New Kensington in a PSUAC match-up at 7:00 PM in the Community Center Gym. On Wednesday, the Roaring Lions will travel to Penn State DuBois for another PSUAC match-up at 7:00 PM. On Thursday, they will host Penn State Beaver at 7:00 PM. On Friday, Penn State Fayette will host Allegany College of Maryland at 7:00 PM in the "Break the Silence" game. Join Penn State Fayette and show awareness for domestic violence by wearing purple to the game on Friday. There will be shirts for $10 and all proceeds will be donated to our local Fayette County domestic violence shelter.
