Fayette serves-up a 3-0 win against conference rival

Monaca, Pa - The Penn State Fayette volleyball closed out its opening weekend of action with a seventh-place finish in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Tip Off Tournament on the campus of Penn State Beaver.

The Nittany Lions (1-2) defeated the hosts, 3-0 (25-18, 27-25, 25-17) to finish the tournament on a positive note.

"We had a fantastic game," said head coach Sam Swetz. "I feel that we are finally starting to feel comfortable with each other on the court.

"We had fantastic improvement over the weekend."

Siteri Tale (Uniontown, PA/Laurel Highlands HS) had 16 kills and four blocks while Jayden Barnish (Carmichaels, PA/Carmichaels HS) had 33 assists, Morgan Pytlak (Rillton, PA/Yough HS) had three aces, Chanel Porter (Cumberland, MD/Allegany HS) and Alex Muccioli (Perryopolis, PA/Frazier) each had 14 digs while Anei Toaisi (Suva, Fiji/Uniontown HS) added 13 digs.

Swetz spoke about the play of her newcomers.

"I am proud of Madison, Jadyn and Anei for stepping up as freshmen," she said.

The team returns to action Wednesday in its home opener when it hosts Carlow, a USCAA Division I team.
