Nittany Lions volleyball roar passed PS-Mont Alto

Lemont Furnace, Pa - The volleyball team swept Penn State Mont Alto Wednesday night to move to 2-0 in conference play.

"We are finally coming together and becoming a team," said coach Sam Swetz. "I think our aggressive practice (Tuesday) was a game changer for us tonight.

"Going from 10 dropped balls to four is absolutely fantastic."

Fayette (5-5, 2-0) won the sets over Mont Alto (3-5, 2-2), 25-16, 25-14 and 25-19.

Siteri Tale (Uniontown/Laurel Highlands HS) led the team with 13 digs and seven blocks while Madison Knight (Clarksburg, WV/Robert C. Boyd HS) added six digs.

Jadyn Barnish (Carmichaels, Carmichaels HS) had 23 assists and three aces, Machaela Hall (Fairchance, PA/Albert Gallatin HS) had 18 digs, Anei Toaisi (Uniontown, Uniontown HS) had 13 digs and Chanel Porter (Cumberland, MD/Allegany HS) had 12 digs and three aces.

Fayette returns to conference action this weekend with two contests as it hosts Penn State New Kensington Saturday and heads to Penn State Greater Allegheny Sunday.

"Coming off of this fantastic win, I can't wait to see what we do this weekend with two more PSUAC games," said Swetz.
