Fayette volleyball keeps rolling; sweeps Beaver

Lemont Furnace, Pa - The Penn State Fayette volleyball team made another big statement Tuesday as it swept Penn State Beaver in a PSUAC contest.

"This was a huge leap for us in the sense that we have officially played everyone on our side of the conference once," said coach Sam Swetz. "This gives us a good confidence boost heading into the other half of the season."
The win is the fourth in a row for the team, and it has won 12 straight sets.

Fayette (8-6, 5-0) won the sets Tuesday by scores of 25-11, 25-20 and 25-12.

Siteri Tale (Uniontown/Laurel Highlands HS) had 18 kills, three blocks and two aces while Morgan Pytlak (Rillton, PA/Yough HS) added nine kills.

Machaela Hall (Fairchance, PA/Albert Gallatin HS) had 14 digs and two aces while Anei Toaisi (Uniontown, Uniontown HS) and Chanel Porter (Cumberland, MD/Allegany HS) each added 11 digs while Jadyn Barnish (Carmichaels, Carmichaels HS) had 29 assists and two aces for the team.

"This win gives us major momentum headed into Saturday, and honestly, it can't come soon enough," said Swetz. "My staff is ready, I am ready, and most importantly is the team is ready."

The team plays three opponents Saturday as they host Penn State Brandywine at 1:00 pm, Penn State Lehigh Valley at 2:30 pm and Penn State Schuylkill at 5:30 pm.

Then on Sunday, Fayette hosts Penn State Hazleton at 4:00 pm.

"It is a big crossover weekend with all teams from both sides of the conference," Swetz said.
