Fayette volleyball sweeps PS-Mont Alto
Mont Alto, Pa - The Penn State Fayette volleyball team traveled over 150 miles to face Mont Alto on Saturday, October 13 and the team returned home with a sweep, 3-0.
"This was a big win for us as we can continue to strive to keep our first place standing in the PSUAC," said head coach Sam Swetz. "Considering the long drive, I am pleased with how we played against such a strong team that has made the playoffs many times over the years."
Fayette (15-7, 6-1) won the three sets by scores of the three sets were 25-19, 25-19 and 25-20.
Kiki Martin (Brownsville, PA/Brownsville HS) came up big for the team as she had seven kills and nine digs.
"Kiki had her best game of the season which created a strong offensive threat throughout the match," Swetz said.
Siteri Tale (Uniontown/Laurel Highlands HS) recorded 16 kills, seven blocks and 15 digs, Chanel Porter (Cumberland, MD/Allegany HS) added 24 digs and Jadyn Barnish (Carmichaels, Carmichaels HS) had 32 assists and 10 digs.
The team has a quick turnaround as it heads to Penn State New Kensington on Sunday, October 14.
