Siteri Tale named USCAA National VB Player of the Year

Virginia Beach, VA - Wednesday night at the USCAA Championship Banquet at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, Penn State Fayette junior Siteri Tale (Uniontown/Laurel Highlands HS) was named the USCAA volleyball national Player of the Year.

"It is very emotional that I have won this award," she said. "I'm shocked right now and don't know what to say.

"I'd like to thank my teammates, coaches and family because this wouldn't have happened without them by my side."

The honor is deserved, according to head coach Sam Swetz.

"Siteri is one of those kids you forever root for," she said. "She works extremely hard, leads the team, is there to pick everyone up and she does all of it with a smile on her face.

"I am so proud of her and she deserved the honor."

Heading into the team's USCAA Pool A contest against Paul Smith's College Friday morning, Tale has recorded 356 kills on 784 total attacks, 304 digs at a rate of 3.13 per set and 116 total blocks during the season.
