VB trio named USCAA All-Americans

Virginia Beach, VA - Three members of the Penn State Fayette volleyball team were recognized with Division II All-American honors at the USCAA Championship Banquet at the Virginia Beach Convention Center Wednesday night.

Junior Siteri Tale (Uniontown/Laurel Highlands HS) was named a first team All-American, freshman Jadyn Barnish (Carmichaels, Carmichaels HS) was named second team All-American and sophomore Chanel Porter (Cumberland, MD/Allegany HS) was named an All-American honorable mention.

"It is just unbelievable because there are so many other talented girls in the same division," said Tale. "I feel honored.

"I'd like to thank my teammates, coaches and family because this wouldn't have happened without them by my side."

Heading into the team's USCAA Pool A contest against Paul Smith's College Friday morning, Tale has recorded 356 kills on 784 total attacks, 304 digs at a rate of 3.13 per set and 116 total blocks during the season.

Barnish has 736 assists so far on the season at 7.83 per set.

"It is such an honor to be recognized alongside my incredibly talented teammates," said Barnish. "We have all worked so hard this season.

"All of my hard work has paid off and I could not be more honored and I would like to thank my coaches and teammates for pushing me along the way."

Porter has 467 digs on the season at a clip of 4.86 per set.

"I am so happy that I won this award and it was a goal of mine this season," said Porter, who is majoring in broadcast journalism and has a 3.5 GPA. "I am very thankful to finish my volleyball career knowing that I accomplished great things."

Head coach Sam Swetz said that all three players deserved the recognition.

"They have all had a fantastic season," she said. "Siteri leads the team, Chanel is determined to be the best and for Jadyn to come in as a freshman and continuously lead with assists is so amazing and I am excited to see what the future holds."
