After going 4-0 last weekend, the Penn State Fayette volleyball team went 3-0 this weekend and is really hitting its stride as it has won nine matches in a row.

"It was a great three wins this weekend, especially against Christendom," head coach Sam Swetz said. "We lost to them in three (sets) around this time a year ago and it shows how far we have come."

Friday night, Fayette (17-2, 6-1) swept PS DuBois (10-10, 3-5) in a Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference match (25-17, 25-17, 25-16).

With the win, Fayette stays in first place in the PSUAC West division.

Siteri Tale (Uniontown/Laurel Highlands HS) had 10 kills and six blocks, Jadyn Barnish (Carmichaels, Carmichaels HS) had 18 assists and Kiki Martin (Brownsville, PA/Brownsville HS) had 11 digs and 11 assists.

On Saturday, Fayette downed rival Christendom, 3-1 (25-13, 26-24, 25-27 and 25-13) and then swept Westmoreland County Community College (WCCC), 25-11, 25-7 and 25-9.

Against Christendom, Barnish had 22 assists, Tale had 13 kills and eight digs, Megan Goodnight (Wheeling, WV/The Linsly School) had 13 digs and Morgan Pytlak (Rillton, PA/Yough HS) recorded seven kills.

In the sweep over WCCC, Justyne Howell (Hunker, PA/Southmoreland HS) had 19 assists, Mackenzie Hall (Fairchance, PA/Albert Gallatin HS) recorded 13 digs and Kayla Zelonka (East Vandergrift, PA/Kiski HS) had nine kills.

Fayette now embarks a five-match stretch on the road and it begins Wednesday at PS Shenango (7-10, 1-7).
