VB sweeps PS Brandywine, face PS Beaver for PSUAC crown

Following its Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference semifinal sweep over Penn State Brandywine Monday night, the Penn State Fayette volleyball team is one win from its second consecutive Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference championship and 12th overall.

"Tonight was a very good win," said Fayette coach Sam Swetz before turning her attention to Tuesday's championship match opponent, Penn State Beaver (19-9). "I am very excited for tomorrow.  It will be a thrilling game."

Monday night at the legendary Rec Hall on the campus of Penn State University, Fayette (25-3) won the three sets against Brandywine (13-15) by scores of 25-15, 25-17 and 25-11.

Siteri Tale (Uniontown/Laurel Highlands HS) recorded 12 kills, Angel Buwawa (Uniontown, PA/Laurel Highlands) had six kills and 10 digs and Jadyn Barnish (Carmichaels, Carmichaels HS) recorded 19 assists.

Fayette downed Beaver in all three head-to-head matches this year.

The first matchup was a four-set win at the USCAA Volleyball Tipoff on Saturday August 31. The pair of sweeps in PSUAC contests on September 24 and October 22.

Tuesday's championship match begins at 6 PM.
