2019-20 Senior Athlete Recognition

Lemont Furnace, PA - The Penn State Fayette Department of Athletes would like to recognize and thank each senior student athlete for their time, dedication, and the lasting memories left behind. Your participation and dedication to athletics will not be forgotten and wish you nothing but the best in your future endeavors.

2019-20 Senior Student Athletes

Austin Clark

18 – Baseball – Pitcher/Outfield – Rices Landing, PA

Clark has been with the Fayette baseball program since 2016. During that time, he would develop into a true leader, on and off the field. Clark ended the 2018-19 campaign with his best season batting average posting a .337 and reached top career performances in runs, hits, RBIs, and stolen bases. Clark finishes with a .314

Jordan Decker

05 - Baseball - Catcher - New Castle, IN

After a short stint with the Wolfpack of Westmorland County Community College, Decker spent the last two years as leader for the Fayette Nittany Lions Baseball program. Decker began the 2020 spring season with a promising offensive prowess, batting a .500 in 6 at-bats.

Mike Elliott

Cross Country/Track and Field –Clarksville, PA

Elliott hails from Clarksville, PA and is a foundational member and leader of both the 4-time PSUAC invitational championship Cross Country and National Invitational Championship Track programs. In his four-year career, Elliott earned conference and national recognition for his academic and athletic performances with multiple Academic All-American awards, 1st team All-Conference, USCAA 2x Gold Medalist, Track team National Champ. Most notably, Elliott earned the 2019 USCAA National Cross Country Athlete of the Year award that is based on measures of success in both academics and athletics, and is awarded to only one athlete per sport.

Ryan Gesso

Golf/Track and Field – Uniontown, PA

Gesso is a multi-sport athlete who hails from Uniontown, PA where he attended Laurel Highlands High School. Gesso competed as a 4-year member of the men's golf program and would eventually help the Nittany Lions record their best team performance at both the conference and national levels this past season. In addition to earning two PSUAC Golfer of the Week nods, he was able to make his mark as a throwing specialist for the track team in their inaugural season by winning the javelin event in the 2017 USCAA National Invitational.

Lou Gonzales

Golf – Port Lavaca, TX

In Gonzales' two years with the Fayette golf program, he quickly became a leader and positive influence for the young and developing Golf team. If his years of military service was not enough, Gonzales demonstrated supreme leadership in helping take the Nittany Lions to another level of competition and set a standard for dedication and commitment to the program. He finished his career shooting a two-year tournament average of 80. His prowess earned him a 3rd place in the 2018 PSUAC Golf Championship, PSUAC Golfer of the Week recognition, the John Fritz Sportsmanship Award in 2019, and "PSF Race for the Cup" Championship team awards in both 2018 and 2019. 

Casey Hite

05 – Softball – 3B/P – Bentleyville, PA

Hite, a product of Bentworth High School, joined the Fayette softball program in the 2017-18 season and contributed as both an excellent defensive presence in the infield, but also as a dominant offensive weapon at the plate. In her 68 game career, Hite posted 190 at-bats, 54 runs, 71 hits, 41 RBI's, and a career batting average of .374.

Atrayo Matthews

#02 – Men's Basketball – Guard – Coal Center, PA

In his three seasons with the Men's Basketball season, Matthews made his mark as a spirited and passionate player for the Fayette Nittany Lions. Although injury riddled his career potential, "Tray" made a living as an energetic ball-handler and had a knack for thriving in big-moments. Matthew's 2017-18 standout season is highlighted by 315 points, 87 assists, and 36 steals. Matthews' averaged 31 minutes per game across 26 total games that season, proving his value and worth to a competitive team that fought for playoff contention until the last game of the regular season.

Tiffany Markovitch

12 – Softball – Pitcher/1B – Brownsville, PA

Markovitch, a local product from Brownsville, PA, made a career on the mound for the Fayette Lady Lions softball program. Noted as one of the best pitchers in the PSUAC, earning awards like 1st-Team All-Conference, Markovitch finished her softball career with a 3.17 career ERA and posted 100+ strikeouts in all three of her completed seasons.

Kiki Martin

#12 – Volleyball – Right Setter – Brownsville, PA

Kyonte "Kiki" Martin will be moving on from the Fayette athletics family after her prominent role as a key setter, hitter, and leader for the team's tradition and legacy of winning over the last four years. In her 375 collegiate career sets, Kiki posted 457 total kills, 163 total assists, and 112 total combined blocks. She is graduating as a two-time PSUAC champion and a USCAA National Champion.

Siteri Tale

#21 – Volleyball – Middle Hitter – Uniontown, PA

Tale, a four-year member of the Lady Lion Volleyball program, was a force to be reckon with since her 2016 freshman year debut posting 269 kills and a 2.80 kills per set on the season. Tale developed into a dominant force in the PSUAC and arguably one of the best volleyball players in the USCAA National discussions earning such awards as PSUAC Player of the Year, First team PSUAC West, United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Player of the Year and USCAA First Team All American. Tale finished her 409 career sets with 1393 total kills and a 3.14 K/S and helped lead Fayette volleyball to the program's first USCAA DII National Title.

Aubree Yates

17 – Softball – Outfield – Eighty-Four, PA

Yates is a four-year member of the Lady Lions softball team and a consistent, all-around presence on the diamond. Noted for her vocal leadership, Yates served as a foundational piece both on the field and at the plate. Aubree finished her softball career with a .382 career batting average and posted 40+ hits in each of her completed seasons.
