Golf team finishes 2nd at BCCC Tournamen

The Penn State Fayette golf team had a solid showing Friday as it finished second at the Butler Community College (BCCC) Golf Tournament at the Lake Arthur Golf Course.

"The greens were the fastest we have experienced all season," said head coach Dave Gumbert. "This presented a problem for all of the players and everyone's scores were higher than normal."

Noah House (Mt. Pleasant/Southmoreland HS) led the way for Fayette as he finished tied for third after shooting an 84 while Ryan Gesso (Uniontown, PA/Laurel Highlands) finished fourth after shooting an 84.

"Noah overcame the challenging greens on the back as he shot a 38 and individually tied for second place and led the team," Gumbert said. "This course presented unique challenges that our players may never see again."

Jarred Provance (Uniontown, PA/Uniontown HS) place seventh after shooting a 92, Joshua Sterbutzel (McClellandtown, PA/Albert Gallatin HS) shot a 101 to finish 12th, Lucas Long (West Newton, PA/ Belle Vernon Area HS) finished 14 after shooting a 102, Pablo Gudiel (Washington, DC/Woodrow Wilson HS) finished 17th after shooting a 120 and Kalianna Rager (Alverton, PA/Southmoreland HS) finished 18th after shooting a 131.

Fayette returns to action Monday when it competes in the PSUAC Blue Course Invitational on the campus of Penn State Univeristy.

"I am looking forward to our next challenge on Monday," Gumbert said. "It will be against all of the PSUAC teams."
