Wrestling team working hard during preseason

Lemont Furnace, PA - When the Penn State Fayette wrestling team opens its season on November 3, it will once again be under the direction of Jerome Simon.

The only coach that the program has ever known during its eight years of existence, Simon is excited with how the preseason is going.

"We have three starters returning but are very excited about our incoming group," he said of seven new wrestlers. "We are ready to go and have some fun."

What does Simon expect from the three returning wrestlers?

"Hopefully, there will be good leadership on and off the mat," he said. "This will help all of the student-athletes start to make adjustments to the collegiate style of wrestling."

What are some of Simon's goals?

"We want to achieve our goals that we set for our student-athletes," he said. "We want to win the PSUAC and be in the top five of both the USCAA and MEC Conference.

"We would also like to qualify as many individuals as we can for the Nationals in Allen, Texas (NCWA)."
