Fayette Clinches Lead In Sixth Inning For Victory Over Vassar College

Winter Haven, FL - Penn State Fayette nabbed the lead late in the game in a 15-9 victory over Vassar College on Thursday. Fayette trailed 7-6 in the top of the sixth inning when Ethan Rendulic doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.

The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. Penn State Fayette collected 15 hits and Vassar College had ten.

Vassar College captured the lead in the second inning.  Story drove in one when he singled.

In the top of the fourth inning, Penn State Fayette tied things up at three when Dylan Bohna's sac fly scored one run for The Nittany Lions.

After Fayette scored two runs in the top of the seventh, Vassar College answered with two of their own. The Nittany Lions scored when Rendulic doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Vassar College then answered when Kanellis was struck by a pitch, driving in a run and Caspi's sac fly scored one run for Vassar College.

Penn State Fayette took the lead for good with ten runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth Braeden McKnight doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run, Sawyer D'Andrea singled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs, Josh Burns singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, Johnny Iannou drew a walk, scoring one run, McKnight doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, and Bohna singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Vassar College scored four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught by Vassar College was led by LadermanTalwalkar, and Herring-jackson, who all drove in runs.

Noah Matthews earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Fayette. The pitcher surrendered nine runs on eight hits over six and a third innings, striking out one.  AJ Segarra threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Sabo took the loss for Vassar College. The bulldog allowed six hits and eight runs walking one.
