Penn State Fayette Struggles To Find Groove Against Bucks County CC

Winter Haven, FL - Penn State Fayette couldn't keep up with Bucks County CC and fell 9-3 in the first of two matchups Saturday.

Bucks County CC scored three runs in the sixth inning. Bucks County CC's big inning was driven by a single by Dimario, by Lombardo, and a double by Turner.

Williams earned the victory on the hill for Bucks County CC. The hurler went four innings, allowing two runs on six hits and striking out eight.  Culver and Hershey entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Jonathan Gaynor took the loss for Fayette. The southpaw surrendered nine runs on nine hits over seven innings, striking out four.

Fayette collected seven hits on the day.  Braeden McKnight and Kyle Ridley each racked up multiple hits for the Nittany Lions. McKnight led Fayette with three hits in four at bats.

Bucks County CC tallied nine hits.  Dimario and McGee each had multiple hits for Bucks County CC.  Dimario went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Bucks County CC in hits.

In the second matchup, Fayette fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 13-3 loss to Bucks County CC on Saturday. Bucks County CC scored on a walk by Turner, a sacrifice fly by McGee, a double by Dimario, a groundout by Suarez, and a single by Galarza in the first inning.

The Fayette struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Bucks County CC, giving up 13 runs.

Bucks County CC scored five runs in the fifth inning.  Lombardo and Turner all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Szychulski earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Bucks County CC. The pitcher surrendered three runs on five hits over five innings, striking out five.

Dylan Bohna took the loss for the Nittany Lions. The pitcher allowed seven hits and eight runs over four innings, striking out one.

Johnny Iannou went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Fayette in hits.

Bucks County CC had ten hits in the game.  Lombardo and Galarza each managed multiple hits for Bucks County CC.  Lombardo led Bucks County CC with three hits in three at bats.
